What can I say apart from being BUSY! I don't have enough time to blog because of the works we need to do in the new house before the weekend which is when we'll move there and leave our flat. I might even be without internet for a few weeks changing to another internet provider - Quel Horreur!! Last Friday we've ordered a fridge and a washing machine on the internet which both hopefully will be here before the end of the week. I found it quite weird ordering something so big from a website, it's not exactly a book from amazon.com we're talking about but considering the savings we've made it should be worth it. I hope they arrive before the weekend though...
The other thing worth mentioning is that I've got a (small) job!! I've met with the very kind Danish Lady today which said she needed me to work for her at least until September. So that's why it's a small job or summer job which carries also a prospect for future possibilities! As I've mentioned before it's way out of my education and experience but I'm glad I can earn some money and will speak French all day long. It's a tiny charming shop, in a charming town selling house linen, furniture, clutter for the house and clothes, all in a beautiful country style. I'm so not going to be able to resist buying stuff while there!!
It was by chance I met Danish Lady. My friend came to see me a few weekends ago and together we went around shopping and being tourists. Once in the shop, Danish Lady repeated parts of my conversation with my friend in Norwegian and started laughing... At that point we look at her thinking that she was either mocking us or being totally crazy!! After 5 minutes of conversation she asks me if I can count in French, at which I answered "fairly well". Danish Lady looks at me saying "that's more than good enough for me". She pause for a second and then offers me a job. Her reasoning being - she'd like a Scandinavian to work for her. I took a liking to her immediately because she was open, fun, daring, a little crazy and I could speak Norwegian to her which is NEVER happening around here.
For those who don't know, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian are more or less the same language. A few words are different, the sounds too but otherwise the same orally as well as written. However it should be mentioned that there are many accents/dialects in all three countries and some of them I wouldn't understand even if it was to save my own life!
