Summery Problems

From April to now the weather has been pretty bad according to the spoilt Southeastern French people. A few hazy clouds will draw a frown from most people - "Argh, cloudy now again!" They've all been wondering if the summer had skipped this region this year but then last Wednesday the temperature rose, the clouds disappeared and all the cigales came out from their groundly hidingplaces to make their characteristic noise all day long. Summer's here! It's hot in the morning, it's hot in the evening and sleeping becomes a hot affaire but we love it and love to complain about it too. Well, I don't. I'm too Norwegian for that. But don't get me started on the moustiques, mosquitoes... There must be some flashing neon arrows saying "Great Blood" pointing my way.

I'm now here, after our more-than-welcome B&B guests have gone back to their own homes, tidying away all the warm winter clothes and taking out all the swim gear. My skin colour is way to white for being the end of June so in a moment or two I can be found on the beach catching up on some reading and sunbathing.

I'm a mosquito magnet as well and I'm also fair-skinned, I like to blame it on that.

I also have the mosquito problem but when I'm bitten it gets all swollen and weird! Apparently I'm allergic (I seem to be allergic to everything).

Hi Astrid. I've been reading your blog for a while now and enjoy it very much even if I don't comment. I really wanted to say hello today, though, to wish you well with the good weather and some relaxing time for yourself. You deserve it what with the hell you're going through with your bathroom reno. I CANNOT believe a guy cracked your brand new bathtub! That is pretty tough to handle, even with four cycles of tai chi. ;-) Good luck getting it repaired, and with the shower door, and with everything!

Hi Michele!! Thank you for your nice comment :) I hope and cross my fingers I get my bathroom sorted out this week or the next. A part from a leaking tap, the showerdoor, some tiles and the cracked bathtub (I know this sounds like everything) it's already part functioning. And soon I'll post a picture of it all. Regardless of all the troubles it has become a beautiful bathroom.
