Do you see this baby to the left? That's the surprise my husband gave me when he came home last night! It's a nikon 50mm f1.8 lens and is great for portraits or any photos where you want a shallow depth of field. It's also fast which means you can get good shots in low light without using the flash. And then it's the sharpness of the photos too. (Happy sigh) Of course I ripped it out of it's paper and tried it straight away.
Hopefully I'll have some good examples to show upon my return from Spain :)

I have this lens also and I can tell you it is absolutely superb. I actually found it better then the f/1.4 version on the quality/price ratio.

Hi Astrid
I have just come across your blog whilst searching for French Blogs. Like you I am married to Italian and have just moved to France after living in Italy.
I will enjoy catching up on your posts.I am contemplating whether to start a seperate french blog though I have been very lazy lately with my Italian one.
I too agree that this lens is great,I really miss my Nikon at the moment as the shutter broke down... so much to photograph!!

ovidiu - i just experience it's greatness. wonderful.
shirly - thanks for stopping by. I look forward to read your blog too now :) I have many questions for you but I think I'll start reading your posts first :) and don't start a new blog, it's nice to read the history even though you've started a new chapter in your life! or at least bring the old posts over to the new one.
